In this kind of agriculture, the health of individuals, producers and consumers communities are considered as one and indivisible quality of life. Following principles of health (organic agriculture should sustain and enhance the health of soil, plant, animal, human and planet), ecology (organic agriculture should be based on living ecological systems and cycles, work with them, emulate them and help sustain them), fairness (organic agriculture should build on relationships that ensure fairness with regard to the common environment and life opportunities), care (organic agriculture should be managed in a precautionary and responsible manner to protect the health and well-being of current and future generations and the environment) should be considered. Protection of biodiversity is the basis of this form of agriculture and food chains from production to distribution, marketing, processing and consumption, all are controlled and more attention is paid to quality than quantity. Organic agriculture is based on conservation and maintenance of agricultural resources. In this review article, all aspects of organic agriculture in different branches of agricultural science particularly horticultural science and their limitations are discussed and suggestions are made for developing organic agriculture in Iran. کشاورزی ارگانیک نوعی کشاورزی قانونمند و متکی به معیارها و ضوابط خاص بوم شناسانه است که هدف آن پایداری تولید ولی نه به الزام به بیشینه رساندن آن است. در این نوع کشاورزی که عوامل انسانی و جوامع تولید کننده و مصرف کننده، در قالب مجموعه ای جدا ناپذیر نگاه می شوند، به اصول سلامت (خاک، آب، گیاهان، جانوران و محیط زیست)، بوم شناسی (بر اساس سیستم‌ها و چرخه های اکولوژیکی)، انصاف و عدالت (با توجه به فرصت ها و قابلیت های زندگی و محیط­های عمومی) و مراقبت (حمایت از سلامت و آسایش نسل‌های بعد و محیط) توجه ویژه ای می شود. حفظ تنوع زیستی مبنای تولید در این نوع کشاورزی است و زنجیره غذایی از تولید تا توزیع، بازاریابی، فراوری و مصرف، همه زیر نظر قرار دارد. و در آن ، بیش از کمیت ، به کیفیت مواد غذایی توجه شده است. همچنینبر حفظ و نگهداری از منابع پایه کشاورزی استوار است. در این مقاله مروری، نگاهی کلی به جهات مختلف کشاورزی ارگانیک در رشته های مختلف به ویژه علوم باغبانی شده، تنگناهای آن بررسی و راهکارهایی برای توسعه کشاورزی ارگانیک پیشنهاد شده است. https://srj.asnr.ias.ac.ir/article_110528_54a79c89cc03e5269dd8e989d4c8e8a1.pdf
